Our Story

Friends Without Borders Mount Edgecombe is based at Natest Primary School. In 2016 we registered as a  Non-Profit  Organization (NPO) that is constitutionally a-religious and a-political.

The key focus and objectives of Friends Without Borders is to engage in various community upliftment activities especially the elders, children and poverty alleviation. We stringently adopt sound corporate governance principles in the functioning of the organisation. Our target areas are predominately Phoenix and Mount Moriah.

All members provide their services on a voluntary basis. All funds raised are used solely for the objectives set out.  Importantly we are big on corporate governance and financial transparency.
Over the past few years we co-ordinated and organized various projects.

Membership, Executives & Council of Elders

Our core Membership

Our core membership is fairly small but a well-knit group of individuals who are totally focused on the ideals of the organisation. They are dedicated and serve the organisation with distinction. During major projects our core membership is supported by a huge contingent of well-wishers and elders from the community. Our Executives are elected once every two years. One of the unique features of our organisation is blending youth energy with the extensive knowledge and skills of our Elders. With this approach we are ensuring there is transfer of skills and expertise from the old to the young. Thus, the Council of Elders work very closely with the Executive Committee in the smooth functioning of the organisation.
